Our "Bring your Family to the Farm" has been a huge success. Thanks to Addi, River and Aizlynn for all their help. We had so much fun and look forward to meeting more families this week.
Every night I collect the eggs. All the chickens are outside the Coop eating and enjoying the cool night air...except for one. She dutifully sits on her eggs day and night waiting for them to hatch. Of course, she could sit there for a year and nothing would happen because the eggs are not fertilized. In the chicken world this is called a "Broody Hen". After several days of moving her out of my way, I started getting frustrated with her fruitless sacrifice.
And then one day it hit me...I am just like her. Number one, stubborn. And number two, sometimes I put forth fruitless sacrifice on things that I want to happen because I am sure they are the best thing for me. Well, life is all about balance. Some days my stubbornness is a good things. Other days I need to accept God's will and let go. Both are hard.
All I ever wanted was to be a mother. After 5 years of marriage I was having no luck. Many doctors visits and even more tears, I was starting to wonder if I was ever going to have the opportunity. And so I did some deep soul searching and decided that if God wanted me to adopt that is what I would do. Long story short, I got pregnant soon after that. But it was an important lesson for me to learn.
See you on your next delivery, Krystal
